18TH FEBRUARY SCHOOL CLOSURE WORK
Class teacher: Mrs Marks
Welcome to the class page for Class 3 at Cold Aston. On this page, you will find important information about our class and what we are learning about. More information can also be found on the class letter - contact the office if you need an additional copy of this.
Our big question this term is:
We will be answering this question throughout the term until Christmas.
Homework is set through Microsoft Teams on a Monday and should be handed in on the following Monday. Hard copies of homework are sent home. Each week there will be:
- Times tables
- Grammar/Punctuation
Spellings are sent home on a Monday and children should practise these daily then submit this on Teams. Tests are on a Friday morning in class.
Children are expected to read daily with an adult for at least 15 minutes. This should be recorded in your child's yellow reading record. Reading records are checked on a Friday morning to ensure children are reading regularly at home.
PE is on a Wednesday afternoon during Creative Curriculum. Children are doing Tag Rugby this half term (Autumn 1). Please ensure that your child's PE kit is in school every day as sometimes subjects other than PE take us outside!
In History, we are learning about the Stone Age. All of our tables are named after different Stone Age animals - how many can you name?
Our topic in Science is Rocks and Fossils. We have enjoyed investigating the different properties of rocks and we are looking forward to learning how fossils are made. Class 3 have a lot of questions about rocks!
As well as singing lots of fun songs together as a class, we are learning "Let your Spirit Fly" which we love. In any spare moment, we always ask if we have time to practise it in between our weekly Music lessons.
Bonjour! Ca va? Content, et toi? Excité! Au revoir.
This term we are learning about how to greet one another in French. We love to learn new words in French so have been branching out from "bien" and "mal" and can now use these words to describe how we are feeling:
- content (happy)
- excité (excited)
- calme (calm)
- inquiet (worried)
- desorienté (confused)
Perhaps if you see us around, you could ask us how we are and we can try out our French skills!
This term, we will be learning about bridges and how they are made, hopefully with a special visitor - watch this space!
This term our unit is called "Computing systems and networks - connecting computers". So far, we have learnt about how digital devices have an input, process and an output. We look forward to applying our knowledge later in the module!
