New Breakfast and After School Club - Pumpkin Patch

Dear Parents

I am really excited to advise you that from Thursday 03rd September 2015 we will be offering a new childcare service at Cold Aston CofE Primary School with a before and after school club. These clubs will be known as ‘Pumpkin Patch’ inspired by all the children having just planted their pumpkins ready for the autumn term on the school allotment. There are some details which are still to be put in place but I wanted to give you as much notice about this service as possible so hopefully you will use it!
Mrs. Jenny Bester, one of our teaching assistants, will be running the club alongside the guidance, management and planning from myself and support from the teachers. The club will be run in the current staff room (which will become our group room next academic year) spilling over into the library. Please see some outline details below:

Breakfast Club
Time: Drop off from 7.45am – 8.45am

Cost: £2.50 per session including breakfast

Last breakfast is served: 8.20am

Running: Monday – Friday
  • The breakfast menu will be varied each day with a choice of breakfasts such as toast, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juices, water, baked beans and scrambled eggs
  • Table manners and social time will be a very important part of this club and highly promoted
  • Low key activities such as reading, puzzles and board games will be available once the children have finished their breakfast
After School Club
Time: 3.15pm -5.00pm

Cost: £4 minimum charge for any part of and up to the first hour (3.15 – 4.15pm)
and then £1.00 per every additional 15 minutes

Running: Monday – Thursday
(not available on a Friday)

  • There will be a variety of indoor and outdoor activities available each week
  • The activities objectives will be to ‘enjoy and have fun’
  • There will be special themed weeks
  • Children who attend extra-curricular clubs will be escorted to the after school club if they are then attending this and will be charged accordingly for their time at ‘Pumpkin Patch’
  • The club could be used by siblings whilst another sibling is at a club
  • We ask that if your child is staying with us past 4.30pm that you send in a small snack

As the club is a school run club it will adhere to all of schools policies and procedures. There will be a separate charging policy. I will be sending out further details regarding bookings and payment arrangements prior to September. I do hope you will find this additional childcare service helpful.

Yours sincerely
